Terry Pegula is Trying to Find The Guy Who Did This to the Sabres

Who's to blame for the Sabres stinking for the 14th straight year? It's tough to say.

Good evening. The Sabres stink.

More specifically, they are 10 games deep into their latest winless streak. If the history of 10-game losing (I will not be giving the loser point a platform) streaks is any indication, they’re going to miss the playoffs for the 14th season in a row.

We’re all trying to find the guy who did this.

In an effort to find the guy who did this, team owner Terry Pegula flew to Montreal Monday for a team meeting.

Mind you, this was less than 24 hours after his actually good Buffalo Bills won their biggest game of the season. I’m a Bills fan, and I’m still catastrophically hungover from Sunday night. It’s taken me until Tuesday afternoon to even write about the Sabres, can you imagine owning both of these teams right now?

Anyway, according to The Athletic’s Matthew Fairburn, the meeting was “intended to calm the waters and for Pegula to voice support for the team and its leadership.”

This meeting could have been an email.

The email I would send to Kevyn Adams and Lindy Ruff if I were Terry Pegula.

“Hey guys,

I see you’ve arrived at the meltdown portion of this season.

Right on schedule, just as you were in a playoff spot for 45 seconds! Your consistency is appreciated.

You keep doing your thing, I’ll be over here hanging out with NFL MVP candidate and future husband of Hailee Steinfeld, Josh Allen.

Best,
Terry”
